A List Of Unorthodox Christmas Songs

Even though Christmas only comes once a year. Doing the same thing or listening to the same thing every year can make the holiday very stale. I have a mental list of songs that I never want to hear again, not because they’re bad, but because I’ve heard them so much to the point where I get irritated every time I hear them.

So it’s good to shake things up a little bit and add some non-traditional songs to your Christmas playlist that might re-up your Christmas spirit.

Khia – Santa Baby

The first time I heard Khia’s version of “Santa Baby” I fell out from laughing so hard. Because it’s Khia, and I couldn’t help myself. But the second time I heard it I was grooving and I have been grooving to it ever since. Hearing Khia rap about gargling jingle bells and swallowing egg nog or whatever, is wildly inappropriate for Jesus’s birthday, but the song is so damn infectious.

Ying Yang Twins – Deck Da Club

The duo that brought the world “Salt Shaker” celebrate Christmas the only way we expect them to, with piles of money.

Eazy-E – Merry Mutaf*ckin’ Xmas

This song puts the triple x in Xmas. After listening to it you might have to play “Jingle Bells” or “Grandma Got Ran Over By A Reindeer” to regain some of your innocence.

69 Boys and Quad City DJ’s – 12 Ghetto Days

Five months free reeeeeeent.

TLC – Sleigh Ride

New Jack Swing + Jingle Bells = A Great Christmas Song.

James Brown – Santa Claus, Goes Straight To The Ghetto

I don’t know if you knew but Santa Clause goes STRAIGHT to the ghetto. Because James Brown sent him.

Destiny’s Child – 8 Days of Christmas

Destiny’s Child got rid of the other 4 days of Christmas and made a song about.
