Christmas time is one of my favorite times of the year. Mostly because of the sweet nostalgia it brings. I’m blessed enough to have spent every Christmas with my family making memories that I will never forget. And the best part of those memories is the soundtrack.
Listed below are my favorite Christmas songs.
All I Want For Christmas Is You – Mariah Carey
This is THE Christmas song of my generation and probably for many more generations to come.
O Holy Night – Mariah Carey
Every time I think of Mariah Carey’s version of “O Holy Night” I think of the cruise my family and I went on years ago during Christmas time. They played this song at least 4 times an hour.
This Christmas – Donny Hathaway
This song was on repeat every during every family Christmas road trip. It is also THE theme song to every black Christmas movie.
Jingle Bell Rock – Mean Girls
Jingle Bell Rock has never been the same since this Mean Girls scene. I think of it every time I hear this song.
Carol of the Bells
This song will be forever stuck in my head after playing it on my clarinet during every holiday concert I ever had in grade school.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays – NSYNC
I fell in love with this song back in the day when I listened to Radio Disney.
8 Days Of Christmas – Destiny’s Child
Who doesn’t love a Christmas song about belly rings and dirty denim jeans? It’s like a modern-day “Material Girl” with a Christmas bow on it.
Mary, Did You Know?
A church Christmas play isn’t complete if there is not an interpretive dance to this song.
Baby, It’s Cold Outside
My dad plays whatever cassette this song is on at least a dozen times during the Christmas season.
When Christmas Comes – Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey is defiantly the Queen of Christmas. I fell in love with this song years ago when Mariah’s second Christmas album came out.
